Senior Plumbing Designer
Location: Lawrenceville GA (In-Office Full-Time) Position Type: Full-Time Exempt Reports To: Mechanical Principal Company: Lindsay Pope Brayfield (LPB) (Represented by Luxus)
Compensation: Up to $100000 base salary bonus
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Plumbing Designer to lead the design coordination and documentation of plumbing systems across a variety of building projects. This role works closely with the Mechanical Principal at Lindsay Pope Brayfield (LPB) and plays a key leadership role within the plumbing department supporting projects from early concept through construction administration.
This is a full-time in-office position based in Lawrenceville GA with a preference for candidates located in surrounding communities.
Key Responsibilities
Plumbing Design & Technical Execution
Translate architectural drawings into detailed plumbing system designs and BIM models.
Prepare and maintain accurate construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
Perform plumbing layouts equipment sizing load calculations and system coordination.
Lead project setup and ensure integration with architectural structural and engineering models.
Review shop drawings submittals and clash detection reports using Navisworks.
Coordinate design resolutions with internal teams consultants and contractors.
Construction & Client Support
Attend internal and client meetings to align design intent and project goals.
Provide on-site construction support inspections and installation reviews.
Respond to contractor and vendor inquiries during bidding and construction phases.
Support construction administration activities to ensure design compliance.
Quality Control & Leadership
Conduct QA/QC reviews of plumbing design packages and construction documents.
Mentor train and develop junior plumbing designers and EITs.
Lead departmental workflows and best practices in collaboration with the Mechanical Principal.
May manage select projects including scope definition scheduling budgeting and client coordination.
Qualifications
Experience & Education
5 years of plumbing design experience OR
Two-year technical degree with 6 years of relevant plumbing design experience
Minimum 3 years of experience supporting large-scale building projects
Demonstrated ability to complete plumbing system designs with minimal supervision
Technical Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
Experience using Navisworks for clash detection and coordination
Familiarity with plumbing design software such as HASS TRACE or equivalent
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook)
Strong understanding of construction documents coordination and code compliance
Working knowledge of local state and national plumbing codes and standards
Professional Skills
Ability to interpret architectural structural and civil drawings
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with strong judgment and problem-solving abilities
Ability to mentor and lead junior designers and engineers
Project management experience is a plus
