The SeniorHardware Engineeristhehardware lead whois responsibleforthe selectionintegrationtestingand verification of the hardware subsystemstoenable amulti-componentoligonucleotide synthesis platformto help transform IDTs capabilities.
This positionreports to theSenior Managerandis part of the Emerging Technologies teamlocatedin Sunnyvale CAand will beanon-siterole.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
Influence system-level architecture and design decisions for asynthesisplatform helping shapetheevolution from prototype to manufacturable system.
Lead the end-to-end hardware development lifecycle fromcomponentselection and schematic/layout review through prototypingvalidation andverification andproductionreadiness.
Own and drive hardware risk management activities including FMEASafety Risk Assessments and implementation of engineering controls for safe operation.
Collaborate cross-functionally withelectricalfluidicssystems mechanicalandsoftware/firmware engineersas well assynthesischemists and othertechnical disciplinesto deliver anintegrated automation-ready platform.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics or a related field with 5 years of relevant industry experience.
Demonstrated experience inhardwarecomponentselectiondevelopmentintegrationandtestingofcomplexinstrumentation.
Extensive hands-on experience performing FMEA safety risk assessments and hazard mitigation for hardware involvingthe use ofhazardous materials.
Priorworkon lab automation or automated liquid handling systems including pumps valves sensors actuators and control electronics.
Strong understanding of regulatory and compliancerequirementsincluding RoHS.
Travel Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
Ability to travel 5% time domestically.
Ability to occasionally lift move or carry equipment up to20 lbs.
Ability tofrequentlywork in a laboratory environment for extended periods.
It would be a plus if you alsopossesspreviousexperience in:
ULor EUcertification including coordination withregulatoryentities.
Working within ISO-aligned quality systems (e.g. design controls change management and risk documentation).
Integrating hardware with embedded firmware or industrial control systems used in automated platforms.

The annual salary range for this role is$140-160K.This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range ofpossible compensationfor this role at the time of this posting. This range may bemodifiedin the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
We offercomprehensivepackage of benefits including paid time off medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.
