Job Summary

Summary

You will serve as an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC/SYSADMIN) in the Information Technology and Cybersecurity Department of PSNS and IMF.


Duties

  • You will manage coordinate and develop Windows operating systems and cybersecurity practices and standards and modify functionality to meet changing requirements on the local domain.
  • You will diagnose and resolve problems in response to CMDNet incidents regarding a myriad of IT issues.
  • You will ensure the application of information security and information assurance policies principles and practices in the delivery of service administration is in accordance with Navy and other federal guidance.
  • You will install configure and maintain the standard CMDNet workstation and server operating systems.
  • You will respond to requests for information system related difficulties analyzing and evaluating problems and providing immediate solutions.
  • You will scan patch and install updates and temporary fixes to existing operating systems per CMDNet cybersecurity policies and procedures.
  • You will examine and evaluate alternative means of satisfying requirements at the concept and technical level.
  • You will execute and implement technically feasible approaches regarding the most effective and efficient automation approaches to improve continuity of service.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States drivers license.
  • This is a Cyberspace Workforce position work role code 461 proficiency level Intermediate. The incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to complete training obtain and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes dust heat ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:analyzing Information Technology systems to identify anticipate and resolve performance availability capacity or configuration problems for government organizations.

Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas:
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Ensuring that DOD STIGs and information security/information assurance policies principles and practices are an integral part of the Windows server operating environment.

Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces including the general public individuals who work in the agency other agencies or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs provide information or assistance resolve their problems or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Serving command customers on issues related to Information Security and Information Assurance and to insure the planning and quality delivery of Windows and networking system support services.

Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example technical sensitive controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others attends to nonverbal cues and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Presenting briefings to senior management officials on complex IT operational and Cybersecurity related issues.

Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Responding to requests related to information systems and Cybersecurity issues analyzing and evaluating the problem and providing an immediate solution whenever possible

The work is primarily sedentary. However duties may require periods of standing and walking in both office and industrial spaces. Some bending stooping climbing lifting and carrying may be required but the estimated weight of anything carried is less than 50 lbs.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour including nights weekends and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

This position requires rotating shift work.

A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.

Certain incentives (such as Recruitment Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.
