This EMT role will primarily support a Transport Only function with scheduled rotations into 911 response. There is no difference in pay between transport and 911 responsibilities allowing team members to rotate based on operational needs.
Schedule & Staffing Model
- Full-time 3/4 schedule (3 days one week 4 days the next)
- 7:30 a.m. 7:30 p.m. shifts
- Ambulance stationed at the Emergency Department from 8:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.
- Rotating Sundays assigned to 911 response
- When not assigned to ED transport EMTs assist with 911 calls
- Anticipated start date: late March / early April
Transport Only Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently transport patients between healthcare facilities for scheduled or urgent interfacility transfers
- Ensure proper securing of patients and equipment during transport
- Monitor patient condition throughout transport and promptly report any changes
- Maintain basic life support care during transport within EMT scope of practice
- Administer approved medications and interventions per transfer orders and protocols
- Communicate effectively with sending and receiving facilities and provide clear patient handoff reports
- Coordinate with dispatch to ensure timely and efficient transfers
- Ensure transport vehicles are clean stocked and operational before and after each transfer
- Represent the organization professionally and provide compassionate reassurance to patients and families
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Prior EMS experience preferred but not required
Licensure & Certifications (Required)
- Current Oregon EMT License
- Valid Oregon Drivers License
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- Must maintain all required certifications licenses and continuing education as a condition of employment
Additional Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must meet company driving record and insurance requirements
- Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment and annual physical exam and functional testing
- Ability to remain calm exercise sound judgment and perform effectively in high-stress situations
- Strong verbal and written communication skills including radio communications
- Ability to accurately document patient care in electronic systems
