Job Summary
Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Security Assistant to support our customer onsite in Springfield Va:
- Guards patrols and polices industrial premises to protect property and staff against fire theft vandalism illegal entry and other hazards.
- Periodically tours premises; examines doors windows and gates to determine that they are secure; observes departing staff to guard against thefts of company property; inspects equipment and stores to ascertain if tampering has occurred; reports irregularities; sounds alarm; and permits authorized persons to enter property.
- Examines credentials of persons desiring entrance to restricted areas.
- Performs a wide variety of clerical and administrative duties in support of security procedures and requirements.
- Processes mail for distribution; receives and returns telephone calls; prepares correspondence; creates reports; types and prepares documents; performs data entry; receives and processes new cases (Notifications of Incoming Personnel; Congressional and SCI nominations) both electronically and in paper form.
- Also performs database queries using PERSEC Joint Clearance and Access Verification System (JCAVS) and the Defense Clearance and Investigations Index (DCII); print reports/results retrieves case files makes appropriate database entries prints case worksheets and provides case file to the appropriate government specialist or contractor.
- May work in a secured environment. Destroys confidential documents.
- Processes security documents and visit requests.
- Sends receives and processes confidential and classified materials.
- Sets up and maintains files.
- Coordinates classified reproductions.
- Maintains security precautions and performs a variety of complex clerical tasks.
Qualifications
- HS with 2 years of experience required
- Requires an active TS/SCI level clearance
