Safety Technician

We are looking for an Occupational Safety Technician to join our team.

Based in Sorocaba Boa Vista Unit Brazil you will be responsible for assisting in activities related to occupational safety contributing to studies and analyses of conditions that control and reduce the risk of accidents in accordance with specific legislation and company standards and guidelines.

1. Participate in control services supporting property security work gatekeeping and documents for restricted use in the outpatient environment.

2. Participate in inspections of workplaces and other areas of the unit identifying dangerous conditions suggesting measures to eliminate risks reporting and guiding workers to eliminate unsafe conditions and acts.

3. Contribute to research and analyses of the causes of occupational diseases and the environmental conditions in which they occurred suggesting measures within the standards required by law aiming to prevent their recurrence as well as correcting the unhealthy conditions that cause these diseases.

4. Monitor restaurant security and reception services ensuring good service to the internal public and visitors.

5. Collaborate with the CIPA in its programs studying its observations and proposals to forward suggestions/solutions for corrective and preventive work accidents.

6. Participate in accident analyses and investigations inspect the site and describe and submit them to the responsible parties for assessment so that the appropriate measures can be taken.

7. Control and maintain fire-fighting equipment in perfect working order checking its distribution throughout the unit and alerting them to maintenance and recharging.

8. Guide workers and/or third parties in the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as well as distribute the corresponding equipment to each area/worker according to the instructions received.

9. Monitor the processes of cataloging and implementing safety signs posters or signage and provide warning signs allusive posters and risk maps.

10. Conduct surveys and statistical studies on workplace accidents occupational diseases and work-related illnesses preparing reports on the causes and severity with a view to supporting the adoption of preventive measures.

11. Participate in the preparation of courses and lectures on safety firefighting and first aid.

12. Ensure that procedures for conservation cleaning and hygiene in the work area are observed as well as guide third parties in compliance with safety discipline and accident prevention standards.

13. Establish implement maintain and evaluate the HSE MS in accordance with the HSE MS of the Prysmian group and the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards;

14. Promote a culture of safety in the unit as well as sustainability projects for the unit.

15. Provide professional and operational support to managers employees and contractors in relation to HSE their tasks and responsibilities;

16. Evaluate HSE investments;

17. Promote HSE awareness throughout the organization;

18. Report HSE MS performance to plant management for review and use as a basis for system improvement.
