Job Summary

Radiant is an El Segundo CA-based startup building the worlds first mass-produced portable nuclear microreactors. The companys first reactor Kaleidos is a 1-megawatt failsafe microreactor that can be transported anywhere power is needed and run for up to five years without the need to refuel. Portable nuclear power with rapid deploy capability can replace similar-sized diesel generators and provide critical asset support for hospitals data centers remote sites and military bases. Radiants unique practical approach to nuclear development utilizes modern software engineering to rapidly achieve safe factory-built microreactors that leverage existing well-qualified materials. Founded in 2020 Radiant is on track to test its first reactor next year at the Idaho National Laboratory with initial customer deliveries beginning in 2028.

Receiving Inspector

Radiant is seeking an independent and detail-oriented Receiving Inspector to own the post-receipt inspection processes in our El Segundo HQ. You will work closely with the engineering and operations teams to ensure that we are receiving material effectively evaluating its critical characteristics accurately and setting our engineers and technicians up for success during assembly operations. The ideal candidate has experience performing inspections with a variety of equipment including CMMs and XRF analyzers.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Select and utilize standard gauges to ensure quality. Inspect feature tolerances by selecting the tool with the required accuracy.
  • Perform complex inspections on mechanical parts components assemblies and materials. May include but is not limited to purchased parts in-process and final assemblies and materials for workmanship and conformance to specifications/drawings.
  • Ensure that all parts meet Radiant specifications and standards or that any non-conformance is documented.
  • Program and setup CMMs and XRF analyzers to achieve the desired inspections.
  • Perform documentation review and verification of certifications specifications and conformance to design and specification requirements.
  • Support the development of inspection plans.
  • Continuous improvement of Radiants precision inspection processes and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
  • 3 years of precision mechanical inspection experience.
  • Experience working within quality management systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Proven track record of independent execution.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Nuclear or aerospace precision inspection experience.
  • Experience programming and running CMMs and XRF analyzers.
  • Basic understanding of electronics inspection.
  • Experience operating forklifts and other inventory equipment.
  • No task too small attitude. You enjoy working on the most urgent problem whatever it may be.
