We are seeking a reliable proactive and hands-on Caretaker to join a busy and welcoming primary school in Uxbridge starting as soon as possible. This is a vital role responsible for ensuring the school buildings and grounds are safe secure and well-maintained for pupils staff and visitors.
The school has a strong ethos of inclusion high expectations and pupil wellbeing. The Caretaker is an essential member of the school team responsible for maintaining the site supporting health and safety compliance and assisting with school operations. Senior leadership provides guidance support and values this role as key to the smooth running of the school.
As a Caretaker you will manage day-to-day site responsibilities perform routine maintenance support events and school activities and ensure a safe environment for all. Your work contributes directly to the wellbeing and success of pupils and staff.
Key Responsibilities
Open and secure the school daily including gates doors and alarms
Monitor and maintain health safety and security across the site
Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs as needed
Assist with the setup and takedown of school events activities and classroom arrangements
Liaise with contractors and external service providers for specialist work
Conduct regular site inspections and report issues promptly
Ensure cleaning equipment and tools are maintained safely and effectively
Follow safeguarding health and safety procedures at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Have experience in caretaking site management or facilities work
Be practical reliable and hands-on
Have a strong understanding of health and safety procedures
Be organised proactive and able to prioritise tasks effectively
Possess good communication and teamwork skills
