We are seeking a reliable experienced and proactive Premises Officer to join a busy and welcoming primary school in Woolwich starting as soon as possible. This is a key role responsible for maintaining the school buildings grounds and facilities ensuring a safe secure and well-functioning environment for pupils staff and visitors.
The school has a strong ethos of inclusion high expectations and pupil wellbeing. The Premises Officer is essential to the smooth running of the school overseeing maintenance health and safety compliance and supporting daily operations. Senior leadership values this role highly and provides guidance support and professional development opportunities.
As a Premises Officer you will maintain the school site carry out minor repairs liaise with contractors and support events and school activities. Your work ensures the school environment remains safe welcoming and fully operational.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and manage school buildings grounds and facilities
Monitor health safety and security across the school site
Respond promptly to maintenance issues and coordinate external contractors when needed
Assist with the setup and takedown of school events activities and functions
Conduct regular inspections of the site and ensure compliance with regulations
Ensure tools equipment and machinery are used safely and maintained properly
Support staff and pupils with site-related queries and issues
Follow safeguarding health and safety procedures at all times
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will:
Have experience in premises management facilities or maintenance work
Be practical hands-on and proactive in resolving issues
Have a good understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures
Be reliable organised and able to prioritise tasks effectively
Possess strong communication and teamwork skills
