Resident Engineer - London & EMEA
Location: London UK (Principal Site: Liverpool St) with EMEA travel
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: 65000.00 - 70000 basic plus travel to London and expenses to EMEA
Lead technical security engineering across a global organisations EMEA operations
Work with cutting-edge CCTV access control and intruder detection systems
Monday to Friday London site based with approximately 3 days travel across EMEA every 2 months
23 days holiday plus bank holidays with opportunities for professional development and industry engagement

Our client is a leading global financial services organisation seeking an experienced Resident Engineer to join their Corporate Real Estate and Services team in London. Youll provide expert technical support and leadership for physical security systems primarily across their UK operations with approximately 10% of your time covering EMEA operations. You will be working on projects that directly protect their infrastructure and people. Position Overview
As Resident Engineer youll be the subject matter expert for technical security engineering providing second and third line support whilst leading site-specific security projects. Youll maintain and enhance the organisations security infrastructure ensuring systems operate at the highest standard. Your work will span software and firmware upgrades documentation management and change control coordination whilst researching new security innovations to keep the organisation ahead of emerging threats and technologies.
Responsibilities
Provide expert technical support and troubleshooting for physical security systems including CCTV access control and intruder detection
Lead site-specific security projects from planning through to completion and handover
Perform software and firmware upgrades across security infrastructure with minimal disruption
Manage technical documentation including site templates IP schedules and system configurations
Coordinate between internal teams and third-party security providers to ensure seamless operations
Oversee change control processes and ensure compliance with security protocols
Research and evaluate new security innovations and technologies for potential implementation
Maintain accurate records and provide technical reporting to senior management
Requirements
Minimum five years experience in technical engineering roles focused on physical security systems
Proven expertise designing implementing and managing CCTV access control and intruder detection systems
Proficiency in DevOps networking virtual machines and SQL
Experience working in corporate security environments preferably within the financial sector
Relevant manufacturer certifications in security systems
Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
