As a Senior Developeryoulldevelop FCCs technical solutions including designing developingtestingand deploying code.Youllbe responsible fordelivering informal leadership while ensuring complex and strategic components of a solution meet all business requirements.

Whatyoulldo

  • Analyze and develop new codeincluding automationintegrationand unit tests
  • Utilize frameworks and patterns (primarily in AWS) infrastructure as code (primarily CDK) and automation
  • Collaborate ona solutions architectural direction andbe responsible forsolution design and implementation
  • Ensure technical solutions and system integrations are developed andmaintainedin the most efficient and effective manner
  • Implement code fixes and support user testing
  • Participate in and/or lead group design and coding sessions
  • Participate in and/or lead data processing application design sessions
  • Participate in and/or lead the design and development of data models and analytics
  • Actively contribute to code reviews providing constructive feedback to team members
  • Explain complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical personnel
  • Collaborate with analytics users and ML/data science specialists using cloud native development.

Whatyoullbring to the team

Requiredqualifications

  • Bachelors degree in computer science or engineering

  • Minimum seven years of software developmentexperience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)

  • Expert-levelproficiencyin some or all the following AWS technologies:AWS Glue StepFunctions S3 RedshiftQuicksight LambdaEventbridgeandAppFlow

  • Expert levelproficiencyin some or all the following languages: PythonPySpark Typescript and SQL

  • Proven knowledge of common design patterns and when to apply them such as object-oriented programming (OOP) and functional programming (FP) paradigms

  • Experienceoptimizingdesign to enable business value creation through analytics

  • Demonstrated experience with code reviews applicationdesignand system integration

  • Proventroubleshooting skills

Preferredqualifications

  • Architectural and data modellingexpertise

  • Data modelling experience in both Data Vault 2.0 and Dimensional (Star Schema) methodologies

  • Experience coaching and mentoring peers (informal leadership)

  • Experience building automation and integration tests and designing easy-to-use frameworks

  • Lending business knowledge ideally within Canadian agriculture
