Leidos is seeking an AI/ML Data Scientist to support an enterprise IT program for an Intelligence Community client. Qualified candidates will possess strong skills in PL/SQL Java AWS BASH Linux familiarity with Oracle Linux user knowledge preferably with CENTOS or Rocky and will be comfortable with JIRA Git & Nexus. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind with a forward-leaning attitude and experience as a database programmer.

The work youll be doing in this role has direct mission impact. As the sole data scientist on the team youll leverage your strong communications skills and prior experience supporting this client to collaborate with both the development and the management teams work independently and come up with ad hoc solutions.

In this role you will support a client who has multiple application teams supporting a portfolio which is the central repository for all the clients created applications. This includes state of the art systems on cloud physical systems and applications based on products such as AWS Oracle SharePoint and other web-based solutions. You will provide support specializing in data architecture to develop data solutions to ensure the clients information is stored effectively and securely system requirements are analyzed and implement migration methods for existing data.

The selected Data Scientist will do the following:

• Provide complex data analysis leveraging advanced analytics and AI techniques to drive insights and inform decision-making.
• Design and implement research studies acquire and analyze large datasets and develop statistical models and ML algorithms to identify trends and patterns.
• Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to identify and close gaps in intelligence analysis
• Apply AI and ML techniques to improve analytical capabilities.

Duties in this role shall include:

• Develop data and metadata policies and procedures for structural design and development to build maintain and leverage the data model ensuring integration with corporate data standards
• Monitor industry trends and directions in database technology and tools
• Develop and present substantive technical recommendations to the client
• Oversee the design evaluation selection implementation and support of major databases and metadata structures
• Review and evaluate database performance and risk and financial analysis feasibility studies
• Oversee the strategic structural design and development of databases and metadata
• Provide technical direction to the maintenance of major existing databases supporting evolving applications and business processes
• Provide comprehensive assessments of the technical characteristics of proposals and alternatives considered to optimize database performance
• Provide extensive technical strategic advice and guidance in the creation and implementation of new data standards and databases
• Provide technical oversight and direction to designated boards for integrating new technology or major new mission capabilities into the metadata and data standards and structures
• Review and assess technical proposals requesting changes or upgrades to the existing databases
• Serve as the lead technical resource in the strategic oversight and planning of data models and database structural design and development
• Strategically plan new designs for integration into a database structure using knowledge of the characteristics of the systems being added to the structure and the specifications for database interfaces to ensure effective integration and optimal database performance
• Develop methods of ensuring data incompatibilities among systems are systematically eliminated
• Diagnose isolate and expediently resolve complex problems pertaining to data infrastructure.

Required Security Clearance:

• Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.

Required Experience Skills and Education:

• Bachelors degree and 12 years of experience or Masters degree with 10 years of experience. Additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Demonstrated experience with Github Jenkins and Nexus.
• Demonstrated experience with VSCode and Eclipse.
• Demonstrated experience and familiarity with data science frameworks like Tensorflow (1.x and 2.x) Keras and Theano.
• Demonstrated experience and familiarity with Test Frameworks: JUnit Swagger Postman
• Demonstrated experience with Jenkins Kubernetes Ansible Terraform.
• Demonstrated experience with on-prem and cloud environments.
• Demonstrated experience and expertise AWS / C2S.
• Demonstrated familiarity with LLM Architectures.
• Demonstrated experience in data architecture.
• Demonstrated experience with and understanding of database structure principles
• Demonstrated experience in data modeling and design including SQL development and database administration.
• Demonstrated experience in data visualization data migration and data modeling.
• Demonstrated experience in relational database management systems (DBMS).
• Demonstrated experience in DBMS software including SQL Server Oracle MySQL PostGres.
• Demonstrated experience in database and cloud computing design architectures and data lakes.
• Demonstrated experience in configuration and administration of enterprise level data stores ETL and ELT methods and batch and streaming data transport.
• Demonstrated experience gathering and analyzing system requirements.
• Demonstrated experience with Version control systems such as Git.
• Demonstrated experience with programming languages Java and Python.
• Demonstrated experience with Linux (OS & scripting)
• Demonstrated experience with Agile development methodologies and JIRA.
• Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced technically challenging area; ability to anticipate and manage changes or problems; assess impacts and recommend sound solutions.
• Demonstrated experience in systems development including system development life cycle project management approaches and requirements and design and testing techniques.
