THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a FOOD SERVICES ASSISTANT (TITLE 32) Position Description Number D2110000 and is part of the IL DOL National Guard.
As a FOOD SERVICES ASSISTANT (TITLE 32) GS-1603-5/6/7 you will assist the Food Service Manager in managing and providing oversight of the ARNG State Food Service Program.

Military Grades: Enlisted only - Maximum Rank of E7
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: MUST possess experience education or training which has provided you with knowledge of and skill in applying the full range of principles concepts and methods of food services; experience in written and oral communications.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6 Level. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-7 Level MUST possess at least 1-year equivalent to at least the next lower grade of GS-6; experience in applying a full range of principles concepts and methods of food services; experience conducting food area inspections; experience with the storage and stocking food service items; experience tracking and records accountability and the use of food service resources for mission support. GS-6 Level MUST possess at least 1-year equivalent to at least GS-5; experience assisting the Food Service Manager in managing and providing support of the Food Service Program; experience in compliance with regulation record keeping sanitation safety and food preparation. GS-5 Level MUST possess at least 1-year equivalent to at least GS-4; experience assisting the Food Service Manager in managing and providing support of the Food Service Program.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.

If you are using Education to qualify for this position successful completion of 4 years of education above the high school level is creditable for the GS-5 Level. Education MUST have been obtained in an accredited business secretarial or technical school junior college college or university.
