About the Role

We are looking for a Data Governance Consultant to support data governance initiatives with a strong focus on metadata management and the use of data governance platforms such as Alation. This role involves hands-on contribution to governance frameworks and close collaboration with internal teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Design and implement data governance frameworks policies and best practices
Lead metadata management initiatives including data catalogs business glossaries and data dictionaries
Work directly with clients using Alation supporting configuration adoption and best practices
Support data lineage and data quality initiatives across modern data platforms
Act as a bridge between technical teams and business users ensuring clear communication and alignment

Requirements

5 years of experience in Data Governance Data Management or related roles
Hands-on experience with Alation in a professional environment; experience with Collibra or other data governance platforms is valued too.
Experience with data governance and metadata management concepts
Client-facing experience or strong stakeholder management skills
Good understanding of modern data platforms and cloud environments

Located in Lisbon Portugal or open to relocating candidates currently based elsewhere in Europe to Lisbon Portugal.
We embrace a hybrid work approach with 3 days in the office and two days working remotely. Spending time in the office is essential for building in-person connections fostering teamwork and facilitating productive whiteboarding sessions and brainstorming.
