What Youll Do

As a Cell Set-Up Trainee youll be part of our Metals Plant team located in Chesterfield MI. Youll get to:

• Learn to install cold heading tooling into various machines.
• Learn to set up install and calibrate various support equipment.
• Learn to compute feed length progression and establish process parameters and set monitoring equipment to ensure processing parameters are maintained to produce quality parts.
• Learn to read measuring equipment such as shadowgraph micrometers calipers and related equipment and document on appropriate paperwork.
• Learn to perform minor tool modifications to include sharpening and adjustments to maintain integrity of parts.
• Learn to feed/Insert stock through wire drawer and straightening rolls and against stop in machine.
• Learn to start machines observe operation and adjust settings periodically gauging and checking parts for conformance to specifications.
• Remove/replace bins of formed parts when specified number have been produced.
• Help perform PM on machines.
• Perform monthly clean outs.
• Move stock to and from machine location.
• Learn to pull and reset tooling as required.
• Maintain housekeeping in the department.
• Other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.

• Ability to read and write to follow quality and related instructions. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagrammatic or schedule form.
• Apply principles or rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written oral diagrammatic or schedule form.
• Practical application of fractions percentages ratio and proportion logarithms slide rule practical algebra geometric construction and essentials of trigonometry.
• Obtain a Hilo license within the probationary period.
