This position is located in the Armed Forces Retirement Home - Gulfport (AFRH-G) Security Division which is located within the Office of the Administrator. The Security Division is responsible for maintaining physical security and emergency management within the AFRH-G campus. The incumbent will serve as administrative support within this division.

One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Specialized Experience for the GS-05: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Experience applying a standardized body of rules and procedures sufficient to perform a wide range of administrative support duties using an automated system. AND
- Experience preparing reports or data collection for the Security Division Business Center and Administrative Office.
OR You may substitute education for general or specialized experience as follows:
Successfully completion of 4 years of education above high school level.
OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.
A combination of education and experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position.
In addition to the above requirements you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement if applicable:
For the GS-05 you must have been at the GS-04 level for 52 weeks
If you are a displaced or surplus Federal employee (eligible for the Career Transition Assistance Plan (CTAP)/Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP)) you must meet specialized experience and any education requirement to receive special selection priority as well as meeting the Well-Qualified definition for this vacancy:
The candidate has experience using and managing CISCOR nurse call system AFRHs keycard management software and USAccess Credentialing center devices and software related to HSPD-12 requirements. They will have extensive experience in managing and tracking the timekeeping system for the Security Division utilizing GovTA. They have extensive knowledge conducting criminal and civil background checks using local law enforcement agencies criminal and civil records system for all community volunteers. They have experience multi-tasking providing analytical and administrative support for various Security programs.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
