Job Summary:

The Director of Scouting will lead and manage the identification and evaluation of football prospects and provide strategic insights to support recruiting and roster planning. The position will lead the football personnel staff in the evaluation of current student-athletes. The position will also assist the Director of Recruiting in identifying evaluating and recruiting high school student-athletes. The role will assist the Football General Manager with player representation relations and support the coaching staff with overall roster construction for the football program.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Exercises supervisory authority including hiring transferring suspending promoting managing conduct and performance discharging assigning rewarding disciplining and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • Schedules logistics and secures resources for off-campus and on-campus recruiting and official and unofficial visits and ensures compliance with established rules and regulations
  • Manages the unit or program budget
  • Directs implements and monitors recruitment records and information systems to adhere to established rules regulations policies and procedures
  • Plans and directs staff implementation of prospective student-athlete identification and evaluation processes in collaboration with coaching staff

Compensation:

The minimum starting salary is $87112 depending on qualifications and experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in college or professional football scouting personnel or coaching preferred
  • Experience with modern recruiting software and analytical tools preferred
  • Experience with navigating transfer portal for player personnel decisions
  • Experience managing player representation relationships

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Excellent organizational and management abilities.
  • Ability to build relationships and interact effectively with prospects student-athletes coaches and staff

Education:

Bachelors degree required; Masters degree preferred
