Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled JIRA Tool Expert to lead the design configuration and optimization of end-to-end workflow and lifecycle management solutions within the Atlassian ecosystem specifically for Telecommunications Service Providers. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of JIRA Software JIRA Service Management and Confluence with the ability to translate building and managing JIRA-based solutions that support Managed Services Operations including incident management service request lifecycle SLA tracking change/release workflows and vendor/customer escalations into efficient and scalable JIRA workflows issue types schemes and automations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design implement and maintain custom JIRA workflows issue types screens fields and permissions based on project and business requirements.
- Lead the design and implementation of custom JIRA workflows tailored for telecom managed service operations including:
- Develop and manage full project lifecycle workflows across various teams (IT DevOps SRE Product etc.).
- Incident Problem & Change Management
- Service Request Fulfillment
- Planned Maintenance Activities
- SLA-driven Escalations
- Translate business processes and operational runbooks into scalable maintainable JIRA workflow designs with end-to-end traceability.
- Enable telecom lifecycle management by building integration-ready workflows with tools such as NMS/EMS systems ServiceNow OSS/BSS platforms etc.
- Configure and administer JIRA projects dashboards filters and reporting tools to optimize team visibility and productivity.
- Set up and manage custom lifecycle processes such as release management change management incident/request workflows and SLA tracking.
- Implement automation rules using JIRA Automation Script Runner or similar tools to enhance workflow efficiency.
- Integrate JIRA with other tools (e.g. Confluence Bitbucket Git Jenkins ServiceNow Slack) for seamless development and operational workflows.
- Conduct requirement analysis sessions with stakeholders to understand pain points and customize JIRA configurations accordingly.
- Maintain governance around project templates user roles and permission schemes to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Deliver training and documentation to end-users project managers and administrators.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in JIRA administration with hands-on expertise in complex workflow designs.
- Strong knowledge of JIRA lifecycle processes including Agile/Scrum/Kanban ITSM DevOps and SDLC management.
- Experience with ScriptRunner JIRA Automation or other advanced JIRA plugins.
- Experience in Atlassian Cloud and/or JIRA Data Center environments.
- Ability to write JQL queries configure dashboards and generate actionable reports.
- Familiarity with Confluence for documentation and collaboration.
- Excellent analytical troubleshooting and communication skills.
- Atlassian Certifications (ACP-100 ACP-120) are a strong plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in JIRA administration and workflow design ideally within a telecom operations or managed services context.
- Experience integrating JIRA with CI/CD tools like Jenkins Bitbucket GitLab.
- Exposure to ITIL practices and tools like ServiceNow.
- Understanding of REST APIs for automation and integrations.
- Experience in large-scale enterprise JIRA implementations.
- Atlassian Certification (ACP-100/ACP-120) preferred.
- Background in Telecom Operations NOC/SOC workflows or service assurance.
