Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join a High-Risk Cardiology unit. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients with complex cardiac conditions while working in a fast-paced high-acuity environment. The position supports professional growth through the BJC Registered Nurse Career Ladder enabling nurses to practice at the top of their license while advancing their careers.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with high-risk and complex cardiac conditions.

  • Monitor cardiac rhythms hemodynamic status and patient responses to treatment.

  • Administer medications therapies and interventions in accordance with physician orders and clinical protocols.

  • Collaborate with cardiologists interdisciplinary teams and support staff to develop and implement patient care plans.

  • Educate patients and families on disease processes treatment plans and post-discharge care.

  • Maintain accurate timely and compliant clinical documentation.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives patient safety efforts and service excellence programs.

  • Practice in alignment with hospital policies nursing standards and regulatory requirements.

Primary Skills:

  • High-risk cardiology nursing care

  • Cardiac monitoring and interpretation

  • Critical thinking and clinical judgment

  • Patient assessment and care planning

  • Medication administration and IV therapy

  • Interdisciplinary collaboration

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

  • Experience in telemetry ICU or step-down units

  • Leadership and charge nurse experience

  • Patient and family education

  • Participation in shared governance or unit-based councils

Qualifications:

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license

  • Minimum experience as required for High-Risk Cardiology (experienced RNs preferred)

  • BLS required; ACLS preferred or required based on unit policy

  • Strong clinical communication and organizational skills
