Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join a High-Risk Cardiology unit. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to patients with complex cardiac conditions while working in a fast-paced high-acuity environment. The position supports professional growth through the BJC Registered Nurse Career Ladder enabling nurses to practice at the top of their license while advancing their careers.

Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients with high-risk and complex cardiac conditions.
Monitor cardiac rhythms hemodynamic status and patient responses to treatment.
Administer medications therapies and interventions in accordance with physician orders and clinical protocols.
Collaborate with cardiologists interdisciplinary teams and support staff to develop and implement patient care plans.
Educate patients and families on disease processes treatment plans and post-discharge care.
Maintain accurate timely and compliant clinical documentation.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives patient safety efforts and service excellence programs.
Practice in alignment with hospital policies nursing standards and regulatory requirements.

Primary Skills:

High-risk cardiology nursing care
Cardiac monitoring and interpretation
Critical thinking and clinical judgment
Patient assessment and care planning
Medication administration and IV therapy
Interdisciplinary collaboration

Secondary Skills (Good to Have):

Experience in telemetry ICU or step-down units
Leadership and charge nurse experience
Patient and family education
Participation in shared governance or unit-based councils

Qualifications:

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum experience as required for High-Risk Cardiology (experienced RNs preferred)
BLS required; ACLS preferred or required based on unit policy
Strong clinical communication and organizational skills
