SharePoint Online Administrator/Automation Engineer

Position Overview:
We are seeking a hands-on SharePoint Online Engineer to design and implement a document automation solution in Microsoft 365. This role will focus on building SharePoint libraries for contracts and controlled documents configuring metadata and permissions implementing OCR-based data extraction and automating document workflows using Power Automate. The ideal candidate will have direct recent experience administering SharePoint Online and will independently configure the platform migrate content from Microsoft Teams automate document lifecycles and support business users through adoption and training. This is an execution-focused role requiring strong technical ownership rather than advisory or governance-only experience.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Build and configure SharePoint Online sites and libraries to support contract and document automation.
- Define and implement content types metadata fields views and permissions.
- Configure OCR-based document extraction to populate key metadata fields (e.g. effective dates expiration dates).
- Develop Power Automate workflows to support document intake and approvals lifecycle notifications (90/60/30-day alerts) and routing and escalation logic.
- Plan and execute content migration from Microsoft Teams to SharePoint including cleanup and validation.
- Provide training documentation and support to end users across departments.
Daily Activities:
- Work with stakeholders to understand document processes and translate them into SharePoint configurations.
- Configure and maintain SharePoint Online components including libraries lists content types columns managed metadata and permissions.
- Implement and validate OCR extraction accuracy and metadata mapping.
- Maintain and troubleshoot Power Automate flows.
- Use PowerShell for administrative tasks such as permission audits reporting and bulk updates.
- Support user adoption through office hours SOPs and quick-reference materials.
- Maintain configuration documentation and change records.
Required Experience:
- 3 years of hands-on SharePoint Online administration in Microsoft 365.
- Demonstrated experience with SharePoint site architecture libraries content types and metadata.
Power Automate (production workflows)
OCR or document extraction tools (e.g. SharePoint Syntex AI Builder Azure Form Recognizer or similar)
Mapping extracted values to SharePoint fields
Experience migrating content from Microsoft Teams to SharePoint
Working knowledge of PowerShell for M365 administration
Ability to train and support non-technical users
