Job Title: Electrical Systems Specialist
Duration: 24 months contract (with higher possibility of extension)

Details/Scope of the project:
This position will have responsibility for defining and validating high voltage electrical components and systems (50V to over 1000V) and supporting powertrain integration for electrification programs (including diesel-electric battery-electric and hybrid machines) from concept through production. This position will be accountable for translating system requirements into appropriate high voltage electrical system designs while ensuring alignment with key safety standards. It will also have accountability for electrical system auditing trouble-shooting validation and issue resolution to ensure alignment to safety and regulatory standards and reliability expectations.

Level of experience required: 5-7 years Experience
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Analyzing HV systems for proper protections and arc flash mitigation using tools like ETAP Pspice
Creating electric powertrain system and sub-system diagrams
Ensuring proper overload protection device selection and coordination
Defining integrating and validating high voltage components in machine powertrain applications
Driving requirements definition in support of electrical safety standards (IEEE NFPA IEC ISO UN)
Assisting technical leads in conveying software requirements and component electronic information for HV diagnostics events and warnings to the various controls teams
Virtual audits of HV powertrain systems for grounding bonding and cable selection / routing
Supporting machine commissioning by evaluating compliance with standards documenting and resolving issues and verifying safe operating procedures
Development of HV system design guides leveraging best practices and lessons from prior machine projects
Sizing high voltage cables in powertrain applications Troubleshooting and analysis of field data
Educating process partners on the hazards and best practices for working on high voltage electrical systems
Preferred skills:
What are the soft skills required: They are looking for someone who has had hands-on experience in the past or understands the physics behind their drive train content whether its working on a farm and running heavy equipment or working on their own automobiles! The idea is that they want someone who has done more than just software. A constant intellectual curiosity. Being open to asking for more insight. Strong initiative and able to work autonomously Stellar communication skills teamwork planning focus and leadership experiences. Ex-CAT would be great if possible.
Flexibility to integrate models from Solidworks analyze cable routings etc.
Proactive in seeking information and making decisions. Ability to articulate problem statements.
Open to feedback and able to learn quickly. Presenting options and articulating tradeoffs between solutions.
Any Specific industry backgrounds required:
Technical knowledge of electrical systems is crucial.
Familiarity with standards and electrical safety systems (ISO FPA) is beneficial.
Knowledge of electrical circuits currents voltage and component selection. Powertrain / epowertrain systems experience
