Logistics Management Specialist

As a LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST GSyou will serve as the Logistics Officer with responsibility for overall program management direction and control of wing logistics planning that includes multiple units and may include geographically separated units where no logistics management personnel are assigned. The primary purpose of this position is to manage direct develop and implement policy programs and procedures for the accurate management of Wing Logistics planning. Serves as the Logistics Officer/Specialist and provides administrative and technical oversight to a lower-graded specialist. This position is responsible for fully prepared assigned unit personnel and equipment for Aerospace Expeditionary Force/Wing (AEF/AEW) Operations around the world.

• This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing states National Guard required prior to the effective date of placement.

• Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
• Required to handle and safeguard sensitive personal and/or classified or information covered under privacy act laws in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
• This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.

Qualifications

Military Grades: Officer only

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1-year specialized experience education or training equivalent to at least next lower grade level. Experience managing directing developing and implementing policy programs and procedures for the accurate management of Wing Logistics Planning. Experience serving as the Installation Deployment Officer (IDO) and acts for the Commander regarding actions required to deploy in support of Aerospace Expeditionary Forces (AEF) contingency operations Operations Other Than War (OOTW) and exercises. Experience in managing the function of the work to be performed. Experience which includes leading directing and assigning work of personnel.
