Liebherr is a trusted system supplier for the transportation industry specializing in air conditioning and hydraulic systems for rail vehicles. We take pride in providing and maintaining the Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system for the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) Rocket subway system with over 1000 units in service.
As an HVAC Technician you will be based out of our head office in Burlington working in the workshop to support the maintenance and repair of HVAC equipment. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to grow in the HVAC industry while being part of a dynamic team!
Responsibilities
- Perform routine checks inspections pressure washing and performance testing to ensure optimal system operation.
- Safely move HVAC units and components as required for maintenance or installation tasks.
- Complete detailed inspection reports accurately and within required timelines.
- Conduct minor HVAC modifications (FMI) in accordance with project or site requirements.
- Collaborate with team members to communicate findings and escalate complex modifications when necessary.
- Diagnose and repair air conditioning systems including brazing and proper handling of refrigerants.
- Perform mechanical testing troubleshooting and component replacement.
- Carry out additional duties as assigned to support overall operations.
Competencies
- At least 3 years of experience in HVAC within a commercial or residential industry.
- Demonstrates a continuous desire to learn and a strong commitment to exceptional customer service.
- Maintains a strong safety mindset and is physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. using hand tools power tools and related equipment.
- Communicates clearly and professionally in English both verbally and in writing and completes inspection reports with accuracy.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Outlook for communication and documentation.
- Confident in customer interactions able to follow instructions and committed to delivering reliable highquality work.
- Demonstrates troubleshooting skills and can diagnose HVAC mechanical and electrical issues efficiently.
