We are seeking an experienced and motivated Associate Nurse Unit Manager (ANUM) to join our 6 bed HDU plus telemetry High Dependency Unit (HDU). This is a hands-on leadership role for a senior clinician who thrives in a fast-paced high-acuity environment and enjoys supporting teams to deliver exceptional patient care.
About the role
As ANUM you will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager to provide clinical leadership operational coordination and staff support across the HDU. You will lead by example on the floor ensuring safe effective and patient-centred care while supporting workforce management and quality outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day clinical and operational leadership within HDU
- Support and mentor nursing staff fostering a positive team culture
- Coordinate patient flow staffing and resource allocation
- Act as shift lead and NUM delegate as required
- Promote clinical governance safety and quality improvement initiatives
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise patient outcomes.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have possess the following skills
- Critical Care certificate with significant experience.
- Ability to work autonomously.
- Preferably with some ANUM experience.
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
- Demonstrated leadership or ANUM/relief leadership experience
- Ability to lead under pressure and support staff in a high-acuity setting
- Postgraduate critical care qualification (desirable)

Remuneration: On offer is an hourly rate ranging from $55.92 - $ 57.76 superannuation based on experience level and qualifications exclusive of penalties or allowances. (VIC Associate Nurse Unit Manager yr1-yr2)
