Supply Chain Project Engineer

As a Supply Chain Project Engineeryoullpartner closely with Caterpillar suppliers and dealers and play a critical role in supporting machine andcomponentrebuildsan essential part of keeping the worlds largest mining operations running. Mining machines and major components must be rebuilt to keep them performing at the highest that when a machineorcomponentgoes in for a rebuildtherightsupplyis available so that the rebuildsarecompletedontime every time.

In thisrole youwill lead the development of the aftermarket parts supply strategy for the Resource Industries Aftermarket Supply Chain alignment across product marketing and global business units helping set annual targets and contributing to long-term product and business planning.

What You Will Do

Strategic Leadership

• Develop the vision and manage amultigeneration project plan supporting keyelements of Caterpillars 2030 growth strategy.

• Lead annual target setting to support strategic goals and guide the departments business planning process.

• Develop the department budget and long-term business plans.

Cross Functional Integration

• Build strong partnerships across product and marketing teamscomponentdivisions machine divisions and internal process partners.

• Establish and govern best practices partnerships and alignment across all stakeholders.

Supply Chain Optimization

• Identify define and implement integrated supply chain solutions to enhance performance and reduce cost.

• Investigate industry benchmarks and best practices to drive continuous improvement in inventoryutilization supplier networks and supply chain health.

• Analyze data to prioritize opportunitiesoptimizesupply chains and improve business outcomes.

• Collaborate with simulation and modeling experts to design andoptimizesupply chain flows.

What skillsyou willhave:

Supply Chain Management:Supply chain experiencethat brings knowledge of lean supply chain principles concepts systems processes root cause correctiveactionand analytical ofinventory management and demand planning.

• Product experienceunderstanding how machines components or engines are designed and used.

• Factory/manufacturing experienceexposure to build processes production flow or operations.

• Aftermarket experiencefamiliarity with service rebuildscomponentlife cycles orpartsbusiness.

• Value chain experienceknowledge of how parts move from suppliers through manufacturing distribution and the dealer/customer network.

Top Candidates will also have:

Bachelors degree in Engineering(Industrial Mechanical Electrical Materials Science) or relatedfield.

APICS CPIM or CSCP National Certification.

Cross-functional experiences inproblem solving acrossManufacturing / Operations Manufacturing EngineeringPurchasing or Parts Distribution is highly desired.

Experience in stakeholder management and providing top leadership updates

Experience with the Lean or 6 Sigma principles.

Additional Information:

The primary work location for this role isMorton IL or Decatur ILwith a requirement to workon-site full-timeat a Caterpillar facility.

Domestic relocationassistanceis available.

This position may require10 -20% travel.
