Job Summary
Mining Services Surface Mining Materials Handling Plant Operations
Our client a leading mining services provider delivering reliable underground and surface mining solutions across South Africa is seeking an experienced and qualified Operations Manager to join their team in Rustenburg.
This is a hands-on operational role ideal for a practical resultsdriven individual who excels in managing people equipment production and safety within a demanding mining environment.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will oversee and gain exposure to the following:
- Management of surface mining / contract mining operations
- Oversight of TMMs heavy equipment and earthmoving machinery
- Materials handling loading & hauling activities
- Plant and processing operation oversight
- Monitoring and improving production safety and operational KPIs
- Ensuring optimal equipment utilisation and fleet performance
- Operational planning reporting and continuous improvement initiatives
- Supporting bidding processes contract execution and client engagement
Minimum Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering Mechanical Engineering Industrial Engineering Metallurgy or related field
- Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency (advantageous but not essential)
- Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in mining operations (surface mining essential)
- Proven experience with TMMs yellow plant and heavy mining equipment
- Strong background in materials handling and plant management
- Demonstrated leadership capability in assetheavy operational environments
- Excellent knowledge of MHSA safety systems and production controls
- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Willingness to be based in Rustenburg fulltime
