Job Summary

Summary

This position is a part of the National Tele-Critical Care Program (TCCP). The TCCP has two major hubs located in Cincinnati and Minneapolis and multiple sub hubs across the VA Enterprise. The incumbent is a member of a diverse multi-professional team who works independently and has extensive experience with program and project analysis and management.


Duties

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Program Support- 100%

  • Assists the Regional Tele-Critical senior management in preparing for meetings collects data and develops information to be presented or included in reports.
  • Establishes and maintains a calendar in scheduling meetings and making appointments for the Regional Tele-Critical Care senior management.
  • Assists the Tele-Critical Care senior management with meetings including arranging space notifying participants preparing the agenda minutes and following-up on all commitments to ensure that necessary arrangements have been made.
  • Secures assembles and summarizes information from files documents in the office or other available sources for use by the Regional TCC senior management.
  • Prepares briefing packages.
  • Coordinates all necessary arrangements for travel preparing travel authorizations notifying appropriate parties of forthcoming visits keeping in touch with staff in route and submitting travel vouchers and reports.
  • Inputs data into a number of electronic databases which might include Microsoft Outlook Excel WORD PowerPoint or Access; IFCAP; or in the VAIQ.
  • Reviews administrative program guidance policies and procedures from higher authority to determine effect on assigned mission.
  • Formulates and recommends changes in administrative policies/procedures with a view toward obtaining maximum effectiveness in the coordination and control of recurring reports.
  • Compiles and prepares a wide variety of continuing or one-time special statistical and narrative reports from records maintained.
  • Discusses and evaluates alternate approaches and solutions to problems and assists management in reaching decisions.
  • Collects collates maintains and analyzes all clinical financial and personnel data related to the TCC and prepares regular periodic reports that clearly present the TCC activity and workload that will be used to develop and guide clinical programs assess staff performance inform interactions between the support center (s) and monitored sites and track type extent and quantity of TCC performance over time.
  • Performs timekeeping assists with physician and staff schedules maintains files and records and assists and/or coordinates activities of administrative personnel.
  • Uses video-conferencing technologies telehealth technologies and other available software to coordinate and connect staff resources patients and providers in the manner effective to facilitate delivery of services and patient care.
  • Collects and uploads accurate Event Capture workload via DSS reporting for all Tele ICU sites monthly or per DSS defined schedule.
  • Assists with collection and compilation of physician evaluation files (FPPE/OPPE) per defined schedule.
  • Assists with computer access for all staff as assigned.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday- Friday tour of duty hours negotiable with supervisor

    Qualifications

    To qualify for this position applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement 02/03/2026.

    Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade as required by the this instance you must provide an additional SF-50s that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade.
    Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

    You may qualify based on your experience as described below:

    Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to:

    • Perform a variety of administrative and technical duties (i.e. scheduling meetings making appointments prepare briefing packages maintain files coordinate travel)
    • Perform a wide range of function in using a variety of computer software (i.e. Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint Access)
    • Experience and competence in resolving issues
    • Experience writing clearly logically and in sufficient detail to perform assigned duties and assist staff in making informed decisions
    Preferred Experience:
    • Strong Customer Service Skills
    • Strong organization and attention to detail skills
    • Proficient in ADPAC duties
    • Experience with timekeeping

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.

    Note: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Applicants wishing to receive credit for such experience must indicate clearly the nature of their duties and responsibilities in each position and the number of hours a week spent in such employment.

    Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. It occasionally requires carrying light objects such as files books and
    papers. No special physical qualifications are required.

    Receiving Service Credit for Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual based on prior work experience or military service experience. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave. Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
