JOB PROFILE SUMMARY:

The core functionality of the Senior Financial Analyst is to provide financial analysis and leadership in support of the VP of Finance Business Development and the New Business Development Sales Team. This role is expected to provide critical analysis and communicate clearly with all stakeholders. The Senior Analyst is expected to be highly organized and manage desperate information and propose solutions for the development of New Business Proposals and Processes. To be successful in this position the desired candidate would have strong communication skills analytical proficiency a strong sense of urgency and a willingness and desire to lead. Success in this position will also be determined by vision execution and follow-through in all aspects of their job. The expectation is that the candidate will provide leadership in a complex information asymmetric and fast-paced environment where-in he/she will deliver results consistently and accurately while helping the VP of Finance Business Development manage the workload of the department.

To which the VP of Finance Business Development can then provide guidance on the proper course of action.
  • Collaboration The Analyst is expected to work with all members of the finance team to help facilitate a team environment. The Analyst is also expected to provide guidance to less senior members of the team by helping train and mentor. Due to the nature of the work it is also expected that the Analyst will provide training and support to any outside departments that require assistance in understating the inputs and outputs of the financial model.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsibilities:

  • Independently provide due diligence for new business opportunities
    • Review and analyze data provided by prospective clients
    • Provide feedback and analysis to New Business Development Sales Team for prospective clients including data and input clarifications
    • Evaluate and transform internal and external information from various systems and databases for use in proposal development to identify trends and opportunities
      • Provide Patient Collection Revenue Projections
      • Managed Care Reimbursement Analysis
      • Provide Expense Analysis of Inputs Provided By Internal Departments
        • Provider Compensation Analysis
        • Facility Coverage Analysis
        • Medical Mal Practice Analysis
    • Compile and produce financial proformas for prospective clients
    • Will exercise independent pricing authority.
  • Develop process improvements to improve inefficiencies in the proposal process
  • Able to build ad-hoc models given limited initial criteria
    • Develop budget and sales forecasting for models
    • Research current market participants and pricing
  • Effectively build and maintain relationships with executive team and strategic business stakeholders.
  • Provide decision and analytical support for New Business Development Sale Team Deal Huddles and Executive Management.
  • Understand core business financial structure
    • Ability to articulate risks associated with model assumptions including but not limited to: Contract Types Risk Mitigation Techniques and Data Inconsistency
    • Ability to articulate proposal risks to current business operations and identify solutions to mitigate those risks
  • Help manage data inputs/outputs to and from clients and internal departments.
    • Able to articulate what possible issues may exist in a given scenario.
    • Able to process large complex data sets.
    • Ability to make a decision on underlying assumptions and articulate to the team.
    • Ability to document and support model assumptions used against internal and external scrutiny
  • Contribute to making the proposal model more robust
  • Liaison between New Business Finance and Sales Team
  • Understand marketplace dynamics and competitive landscape
  • Demonstrate ability to deliver on multiple deals meet tight deadlines and be effective and decisive under pressure.
  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity and the ability to identify analyze interpret and deliver sound solutions.
  • Expected to carefully consider manner in which work is presented and include summarized analysis data and visual presentation that is most appropriate for each situation.
  • All work should be done in a way that is traceable explainable and with thought to how it can be easily replicated for various scenario changes.
  • Must communicate effectively with other departments including but not limited to: Business Development Managed Care Data Analytics Operational Finance Accounting Revenue Cycle Services Operations and IT.
  • Expected to produce dependable and accurate work product that requires no review and or checking by VP of Finance Business Development.
  • If applicable expected to assist Jr. Analysts ensure dependable and accurate work product that requires limited review and or checking by VP of Finance Business Development.
  • If applicable will assist Jr. Analysts in the providing feedback and review of the following:
    • Data analysis
    • Proposal development
    • Ad-hoc queries
    • General healthcare industry and company knowledge

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Proficiency in Excel Access Analytical Software Suite Billing Systems
  • Prior exposure to the following is a plus: VBA; JavaScript; MicroStrategy; Oracle BI; Tableau; SASS; R; STATA; HOST Analytics; Workday; Kronos
  • Knowledge of relational / multi-dimensional databases
    • Ability to write SQL; MDX Queries a plus
  • Must be able to work in a team environment and communicate effectively
  • Must be able to work in a high-stress time sensitive environment
  • Must be able to multi-task handling multiple deals at once

EDUCATION (Required and/or Preferred):

  • Bachelors degree: Finance Economics Accounting Math Data/Computer Science Health Information Management or Statistics is required
  • Masters Degree in Business Administration or the above fields is preferred

WORK EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have 5 or more years of financial modeling analysis
  • Healthcare finance experience a plus
  • Health Information Management a plus
  • Prior management experience a plus
