Job Summary
Summary
This is an Air Reserve Technician (ART) position. ARTs are part of the regular career civil service and enjoy all the benefits granted to Federal employees in the competitive civil addition ARTs are required to maintain their active membership in the AF Reserve unit where assigned. ARTs receive on average one weekend of military training per month.

Perform inspection and troubleshooting on a variety of major aircraft systems their assemblies and components in accordance with applicable technical orders/commercial manuals (C40 only) and specifications.
Position maintain disassemble repair and reassemble aircraft systems their assemblies and components in accordance with applicable technical orders and specifications.
Accomplish aircraft maintenance and equipment record keeping both manual and automated associated with aircraft maintenance and repair.
Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work area.
Verify and certify work processes and procedures and adequacy of work accomplished by certified co-workers and trainees.
Conditions of employment
- May be required to fly in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments (TDY) away from the normal duty station.

- Must be able to obtain and retain a secret security clearance.
- Travel and relocation expenses will be paid
- If authorized PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. If receiving an authorized PCS you may be subject to completing/signing a CONUS agreement. More information on PCS requirements may be found at: position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program
- Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours to include evenings weekends and/or holidays
- A recruitment/relocation incentive may be authorized.
- Disclosure of Political Appointments is required
- Must be a current member of the AF Reserve or willing/qualified to join
- May be required to work overtime to meet workload demands. Performs uncommon tours of duty.
- Work may require the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate valid drivers license may be required for the position.
- This position is designated as Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Testing Program.
