Job Output

Under the supervision of a Production Supervisor the Powder and Sublimation Team Lead is responsible for promoting a safe working environment while supporting and enforcing company policies and mentoring/developing employees on every aspect of production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesincludethe duties may be assigned.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Trainand lead the workforce in thePowder and Sublimation areas.

  • Responsible for ensuring andmaintainingall manufacturing standards ensuring work schedules areaccomplishedandmanpoweris scheduled accordingly.

  • The primary area of responsibility includesthe Powder Coating Line and the Sublimation Area.

  • Developprocesses to improve our current work practices.

  • Commit to and follow the facility Mission Vision and Values that support the AWI Operating Principles as an individual and team.

  • Attend andparticipatein all required company trainingprogramsand meetings.

  • Reducewaste bysupporting the ideas of the team members andbringing projects to fruition.

  • Makeappropriate runningdecisions to prevent excessivedefects and/or downtime.

  • Performroutine and non-routine repetitive production and/or service dutiesincluding but not limitedto:operation of specialty machinery setup of complex tooling and equipment completion of reports and logsandfollow-up on work schedules.

  • Develop a knowledgeof the processes in the areain order tofill in whenoperators areout of the office and bethe firstpoint of contact for the team during troubleshooting.

  • Ensure operators are all keepingaccuraterecords ofproduction and quality.

  • Conduct shift meetings withteamto cover safety quality and to provide direction and goals for daily activitiesandreviewthe prior days results.

  • Communicateemployee issuesto Operations Manager and/or HR Coordinatorto ensure all legal employment standards are followed and to address any employee relations issues.

  • Address staffing needs schedulemanpowerand assign work to others.

  • Work withtheprocurementand inventory teamto schedule and address material issues.

  • Interpretprocess sheets for workersand make suggestions for improvementson process sheets that would improveunderstanding.

  • Must be willing and able to work splitshiftand overtime asrequired.

Environmental Health &Safety

  • Follow all CompanyOSHA Safety and EPA EnvironmentalPolicies.

  • Always ensures personal safe behaviorand encourages safe behavior in others.

  • Participates in safety related events/trainings/processes.

  • Conform to all company policies and procedures.

  • Maintain clean and organized workarea.

  • Proper cleaning and maintenance of equipment.

  • Report any safety/environmental incidents.

  • Complete proper paperwork forincidents near misses risk assessments and other safety related items promptly.

Quality

  • Maintaina high levelof customer focus in producing quality products and services that do not sacrifice the safety of others oneself nor the environment.

  • Work withvarious personnel in the plantand/or corporateto solve issues on the floor.

  • Ensure that the standards for quality output safety etc. are adhered to and improved upon.

  • Troubleshoot issues that are within your knowledge and to contact more resources for issues outside of your knowledge and control.

  • Support the development of standards for all equipment and processes in the area.

  • Ensurestandard recipes arebeing followedregularly without unrecorded deviations.

  • Understandwho to contact when product qualityor raw material quality is out of specification.

  • Lead the team in the hold process to prevent the customer from receiving out of specification material.

  • Create and/orimproveuponstandard work processes including but not limited to:

  • Start Up

  • Shut Down

  • While Running

  • Change Overs

  • Troubleshooting

  • Downday

Cost

  • Look for projects or methods to reduce cost without sacrificing the quality of the partsor safety of the process.

  • Enable employees toparticipatein orlead projects/events that would improve the processes.

  • Driveswaste out of operation.

Supervisory Responsibilities:Direct the work activities of 8-12 employees.

Travel:Minimal; less than 5%for specifictrainingsor events.

Qualifications

  • Experience in leading or managing people and addressingdifficult situations.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • No current discipline on record at written warning level or higher.

  • Four or less absence occurrences under the attendance program.

  • Basic computer skills including Excel & web-based applications to enterdataandwritereportsregularly and accurately.

  • Priormanufacturing assembly material movement or powder coating operations experience preferred.

  • Ability tolearn andunderstand the PLC operating screenand data output screens.

  • Understand your internal customer base (Assemblyand Crating)and external customer base (Customers).Be customer oriented;possessthe ability toreact to thecustomers needs while following company procedures.

  • Direct knowledge anddemonstratedunderstanding ofJohnstown plant productsand processes is preferred.

  • Knowledge of metal manufacturing materials fabrication processes and machinery preferred.

  • Must beflexible and be able to respond with a positive attitude to changing demands and conditions.

  • Must be able to effectively communicate with manyareas of the plant/company during meetings presentations and variousconversationson and off the floor.

  • Attention to detailand understand/adjusting tominor detail changes.

  • Ability to learn how tooperatea forklift and other company vehicles.
