Job purpose
We are seeking a Part Time (Temp) Electrician to be responsible for installing maintaining and repairing electrical systems and equipment in compliance with safety regulations technical standards and company policies. This role will involve diagnosing electrical issues performing preventive maintenance and ensuring all work meets quality and code requirements. 8-koi; a diverse Florida based service and consulting company that has been providing outstanding results for our clients for over a decade.
Duties and responsibilities
- Install maintain and repair electrical wiring systems and fixtures in residential commercial or industrial settings.
- Inspect electrical components such as transformers circuit breakers and switches to ensure proper operation.
- Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with applicable codes standards and regulations (e.g. NEC OSHA).
- Assist troubleshoot and repair control systems lighting systems and power distribution equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures wear protective gear and use lockout/tagout protocols when necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal electrician apprenticeship program preferred.
- Currently enrolled as a 2-year apprentice in the Florida Electrical Apprenticeship Association Program.
- At least a minimum of 1 year job experience.
- Basic knowledge of electrical systems wiring and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficient in using electrical tools meters and testing devices/safely and properly.
- Basic problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to work in confined spaces at heights and in various weather
Working conditions
Working conditions may require overtime weekend or on-call shifts.
Work involves exposure to high voltage moving machinery and construction sites.
Use of PPE (personal protective equipment) is mandatory.
Physical requirements
Normal office environment mobility; sitting walking bending stooping standing lifting a maximum of 25 pounds (greater than 25 pounds requires a two-person lift) turning pushing. Normal office dexterity to include; reaching handling grasping to include typing/keyboard and phone use.
