1. ROLE OVERVIEW
The TIG Welding Operator will be responsible for carrying out high-quality TIG welding and fabrication work on stainless steel and aluminium components across automotive industrial and architectural applications.
The role requires strong technical skill attention to detail and the ability to deliver clean consistent welds. The successful candidate must be capable of working independently following job instructions accurately and maintaining professional standards of workmanship safety and workshop discipline.
This is a hands-on role suited for experienced welders seeking stable full-time employment in a structured and quality-driven environment.
2. KEY WORK SCOPE
The TIG Welding Operator will be involved in a variety of fabrication and repair tasks including:
TIG welding of stainless steel and aluminium components.
Fabrication and repair of automotive parts and assemblies.
Industrial metal works and custom fabrication jobs.
Architectural metal works requiring high accuracy and clean finish.
Custom and repeat production jobs requiring consistency and attention to detail.
Work assignments may vary based on business demand and project requirements.
3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 TIG Welding & Fabrication
Perform TIG welding on stainless steel and aluminium to required quality standards.
Prepare materials joints and surfaces prior to welding (cutting cleaning fit-up and alignment).
Set up welding machines and parameters correctly for each job (current gas flow tungsten selection filler selection).
Control heat input to avoid distortion burn-through warping or contamination.
Deliver clean strong and visually acceptable weld finishes in line with agreed standards.
3.2 Job Execution & Quality
Follow job cards drawings instructions or samples accurately.
Confirm material type and job requirements before commencing work and raise issues early.
Inspect completed work before submission; identify defects and correct them where possible.
Maintain consistency and accuracy across repeat jobs and ensure workmanship matches prior approved samples.
Escalate quality risks rework trends or unclear instructions to the supervisor for corrective action.
3.3 Workshop Discipline & Safety
Maintain cleanliness and order in the assigned work area (housekeeping storage and waste handling).
Use tools machines and consumables correctly and safely; avoid wastage and misuse.
Observe all safety procedures and workshop rules including PPE usage and safe handling practices.
Safeguard company equipment tools and materials from damage loss or unauthorised use.
Report equipment faults and safety hazards immediately to prevent downtime and incidents.

4. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
4.1 Mandatory Requirements
Proven hands-on experience in TIG welding.
Demonstrated ability to weld stainless steel and aluminium.
Strong hand control and attention to detail with consistent weld bead appearance and penetration.
Understanding of material preparation heat control and finishing methods.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and deliver against job requirements.
Ability to follow instructions drawings or samples accurately and maintain workmanship consistency.
4.2 Preferred / Advantage
Experience in automotive industrial or architectural metal works.
Experience working in a professional workshop environment with quality standards.
Ability to handle varied job types (repairs and fabrication) while maintaining consistent quality.
Basic troubleshooting ability for common welding set-up and process issues.
