POSITION OVERVIEW
The RAPP Coordinatoris responsible forthe implementation of the Relationship Abuse Prevention Program (RAPP) at assigned middle and high school sites and within a designated RAPP Hub.âRAPP is a community-based program that focuses on serving middle and high school students throughout NYC to reduce experiences of violence and prevent further harm over a childs lifetime.âTheCoordinatorprovides direct program delivery facilitation and youth-centered services grounded in diversity equity inclusion and trauma-informed care.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Program Implementation & Partnerships
- Develop a new hub-based model for RAPP andfacilitateprogramming for middle and high school students at designated hubs and assigned school sites.
- Delivercurriculumcenteredon relationship abuse prevention community healing restorative and transformative justice and youth leadership.
- Build andmaintainpartnerships with schools and community organizations.
- Provide individual and group therapeutic or supportive services to youth.
- Represent URIs RAPP program at school meetings and community events.
Outreach & Community Engagement
- Conduct proactive outreach to students faculty and families to increase program visibility and enrollment within the assigned school sites and RAPP Hub.
- Establish referral pathways with local providers to ensure students have access to comprehensive support services.
Restorative & Transformative Justice (RJ/TJ)
- Facilitate restorative circles and mediation sessions to address harm resolve conflicts and build community within the hubcommunityand school environments.
- Implement transformative justice frameworks focusing on developing sustainable support for young people and community members who want to be in healthy relationships.
Summer Program & Youth Leadership
- Lead a cohort of 30 youth during a summer intensive focused on developing peer leadership advocacy and public speaking skills.
- Prepare youth participants to transition into Youth Leader roles within their respective RAPP Hubs for the school year.
- Mentor youth leaders as they design and executeâCommunity Action Projects (CAPs)âaimed at raising awareness about relationship abuse and social justice.
Data & Equity Analysis
- Enter all required data accurately andin a timely manner.
- Support equity-driven outreach and service delivery.
- Participate in quality improvement and evaluation efforts.
SPECIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
- Masters degree in social work counseling psychology or related field with licensure (LMSW LMHC or LCSW).
REQUIREDSKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- At least 2 years experience working with youth in school or community-based settings.
- Passion for URIs mission and commitment to trauma-informed care and restorative practices.
