THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a AIRCRAFT MECHANIC (TITLE 32) Position Description Number NGDand is part of the TN 164th AW Air National Guard.
This vacancy is covered by Association of Civilian Technicians (ACT) Chapter 115 (Pyramid on the River Chapter).
As an AIRCRAFT MECHANIC WGyou will perform inspections functional checks and preventative maintenance on aircraft to include periodic phase hourly preflight postflight calendar thru-flight and special inspections such as fuel contamination emergency equipment and oil sampling; troubleshoot and perform unscheduled maintenance on assigned and transient aircraft utilizing various gauges meters measuring devices and other related test equipment; perform user and organizational level maintenance on assigned support equipment including inspection repair modification and corrosion prevention; provide data for aircraft maintenance historical records complete maintenance data collection man-hour accounting and other forms as required; instruct direct and assign maintenance repair tasks to drill status guard members; comply with safety fire security and housekeeping regulations; prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations such as MEI ORI IG and UE inspections mobility and command support exercises; perform other duties as assigned.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must have experience or training that has provided you with the skill to remove and replace aircraft parts accessories and components; the ability to adjust settings according to established specifications; skilled in the use of hand tools and test equipment.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 18 months specialized experience or training installing adjusting aligning troubleshooting and functionally testing the various major and minor mechanical and pneudraulic systems on an aircraft during overhaul or modification; experience coordinating the work of other mechanics and scheduling maintenance to ensure completion of critical actions and optimum workflow; the ability to instruct lower graded mechanics military and other personnel in the disassembly and re-assembly of crash damaged engines transmissions gearboxes hydraulic components and fuel controls sufficient for the exhibit to be returned to its shipping container.
