The Miami VA Healthcare System (Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center) Specialty Care Service is seeking an experienced and dynamic Physician (Neurology). This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval award amount (up to $200000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Pay: Competitive salary annual performance bonus regular salary increases

The Physician( Neurology ) Specialty Care service at the Bruce W. Carter VA Medical Center is responsible for examining and treating patients who experience disorders illnesses and injuries that affect the nerves spinal cord and brain. Their duties include conducting physical examinations collecting spinal fluid or other samples and running neurological tests to identify problems.
Preferred Experience: Candidate must be Movement Fellowship trained. If not must have a minimum of 5 years experience with movement subspecialty patients and be proficient in managing and programming Deep Brain Stimulator. Candidate should also have experience with toxin injections for dystonias and other movements conditions.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.(Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor. The selectee may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs).
To qualify for this position you must meet the basic requirements as well as any additional requirements (if applicable) listed in the job announcement. Currently employed physician(s) in VA who met the requirements for appointment under the previous qualification standard at the time of their initial appointment are deemed to have met the basic requirements of the occupation.
