HOURS OF WORK: 40 hours per week

UNIONIZED POSITION: OPSEU Local #332

COMPENSATION: $31.46-$33.86 per hour
EFFECTIVE DATE: ASAP

INTRODUCTION:

New Path Youth and Family Services is an accredited childrens mental health agency providing a range of compassionate innovative and accessible services for children youth and their families throughout Simcoe County. New Path respectfully acknowledges we are situated on the traditional land of the Anishnaabeg people which include the Odawa Ojibwe and Pottawatomi Nations collectively known as the Three Fires Confederacy.


PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

The Care and Treatment Worker supports youth and their families who are experiencing significant social emotional and behavioural barriers and challenges in an intensive 24-hour therapeutic setting.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Post-secondary education Child and Youth Worker (CYW) or equivalent.
  2. Minimum two years experience supporting youth with complex needs in a therapeutic environment.

  2. Meaningfully engages youth and families and collaborates to facilitate positive change.
  3. Aligns own behavior with the values needs priorities and goals of the organization.
  4. Takes personal responsibility for enhancing individual and team performance by promoting cooperation and commitment.
  5. Demonstrates strong engagement skills using a strengths-based approach and partners with client/family in treatment planning goal setting and anticipated outcomes.
  6. Recognizes initiates and adapts to changing conditions and situations in the workplace.
  7. Demonstrates awareness for the backgrounds values beliefs and traditions of staff clients families and communities we serve.
  8. Continuously assesses and challenges assumptions personal unconscious bias and commits to understanding diverse perspectives experiences and their intersectionality.
  9. Commits to ongoing training to build the knowledge awareness and skills that contribute to creating a culturally safe environment for staff clients and families.
  10. Competency and effective use of database and Microsoft Office systems.
  11. Confident articulate and professional when communicating verbally and in writing.
  12. French language is an asset.


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Required to work varying shifts on weekdays weekends and holidays.
  2. Willingness to travel using agency vehicle. Must have valid drivers license with minimum G2.
  3. Must be able to effectively deliver crisis intervention using a Ministry approved training program including physical techniques. Training will be provided.
