Join our team in Palmerston North as the IDC Pavement Foreman

We are seeking a proactive Pavement Foreman to lead a small team delivering pavement repairs resurfacing and maintenance on the state highway network for the IDC contract with NZTA in the Manawatu-Whanganui region. As a key member of our IDC contract you will supervise a skilled team in pre-seal repairs general construction and maintenance of roads and paved surfaces. The role involves ensuring all works are completed to the highest standards and within deadlines by effectively coordinating and planning daily schedules alongside the Operations Manager.

In addition you will be responsible for managing safety and regulatory compliance across all worksites overseeing essential documentation and maintaining quality and efficiency throughout project delivery. Effective resource coordination communication with project managers mentoring and supporting team members and undertaking additional duties or projects as required are also core components of this role.

In addition to the above you will:

  • Supervise pre-seal repairs pavement dig outs high and low shoulder repairs water tabling general road and cycleway/footpath construction as well as any other planned maintenance as part of our IDC contract
  • Ensure safety compliance complete all required documentation coordinate resources and communicate schedules effectively with operations and project managers
  • Mentor team members and undertake additional duties or projects as required to achieve operational excellence

Were looking for someone with:

  • Full Class 2 license and WTR endorsements
  • Proven experience in road and pavement construction and maintenance
  • Sound knowledge of pavement construction including compaction surface stability and experience preventing issues like subsidence cracking and potholes
  • Proven experience in leading a crew and managing subcontractors
  • Experience in planning daily schedules allocating resources and ensuring completion to high standards and deadlines
