Electrical Engineer Who we are We are a team of scientists engineers technicians and innovators dedicated to changing the world by developing medical isotopes to treat and eradicate cancer. We believe in building an environment where collaboration curiosity and camaraderie thrive. We also enjoy darts cornhole ping-pong chili cook-offs and other fun events that makes our company a community where we make a life not just a living. Who you are You are reliable detail-oriented and comfortable working in a regulated risk-aware environment. You take a methodical hands-on approach to problem solving quickly identifying issues and driving practical solutions. You think logically communicate clearly and focus on root causenot just symptoms. Words that describe you are systems-oriented precise and data-driven. What you can expect to work on The Electrical Engineer will design implement troubleshoot and upgrade electrical and control systems used in linear particle accelerators and related radioisotope production equipment. This role requires expertise in high-voltage systems RF power pulsed power and radiation-safe electrical design with a strong emphasis on reliability safety and regulatory compliance in a radiological environment. - Design install and commission electrical systems including high-voltage power supplies pulsed modulators klystrons and RF distribution networks for the electron linac
- Maintain and troubleshoot accelerator components such as electron guns accelerating structures beam diagnostics vacuum systems and magnet power supplies
- Develop and implement control systems (PLC-based or embedded) for beam monitoring interlocks and personnel/radiation safety systems
- Document designs procedures and modifications; participate in safety reviews and root cause analyses for electrical or beam-related incidents
- Support integration of new technologies such as superconducting RF components or advanced diagnostics to enhance production scalability
What you need to succeed - Embraces and models the Niowave Core Values of Teamwork Courage Integrity and Upright Zeal
- Understands how to integrate into a new team/organization appreciates the history of current state know how and when to make suggestions as well as using just the right pace to reach the improved future state
- Understands your own communication and learning styles can assess others styles and is able to find the right path to best connect with colleagues
- Bachelors degree in electrical engineering electronics engineering or a related field
- 5 years experience in electrical systems for particle accelerators high-power RF systems pulsed power or similar complex scientific instrumentation
- Proficiency in high-voltage/high-power electronics RF amplifiers (e.g. klystrons) PLC programming and control systems (e.g. EPICS or similar)
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting in radiation environments vacuum systems or beamline instrumentation
- Knowledge of radiation safety interlock systems and regulatory requirements for radiological facilities
- Experience with CAD tools (e.g. AutoCAD Electrical) and simulation software
Great to have - Masters degree in electrical engineering electronics engineering or a related field
- 8 years experience in electrical systems for particle accelerators high-power RF systems pulsed power or similar complex scientific instrumentation
- Experience with electron linear accelerators (linacs) or medical/industrial accelerators
- Experience at national labs medical linacs or isotope production facilities highly desirable
- USPAS training/certification
- Familiarity with isotope production processes
- Certification in radiation safety or willingness to obtain relevant training
