Job Summary

Summary

Manages and analyzes dental clinic operations to improve access to care scheduling efficiency and provider productivity across multiple sites. Oversees appointment scheduling for 50 providers resolves issues with medical administration analyzes utilization and performance data manages timekeeping and develops procedures and training. Serves as liaison troubleshooter and operational analyst to reduce missed opportunities and improve patient service.


Duties

  • Manages/schedules patients for providers for dental service clinics
  • Maintains automated scheduling system for appointments
  • Prepares request to open and close clinics using various computer software and Visual Aid
  • Retrieves data for VA Dentistry Share-Point and Dental Reporting and Analytics system (DRAS) Sharepoint Portal VHA Support service System (VSSC) and dental records Manager (DRM)
  • Capture workload and event capture data from patient visits from VISTA and Dental Records Manager (DRM)
  • Create charts tables graphs based on workload information
  • Compiles and verifies reports to dental service
  • Maintain Timekeeping for dental service
  • Ensure dental service information technology equipment are consistently functioning ADPAC
  • Maintains security/confidentiality of records equipment and computer access
  • Establish priorities based on program areas and commitments and priorities of the dental service
  • As a team member recommends solution to routine problems
  • Review content of letters or other documents for completeness correction and consistency.
  • Responds to letters and questions
  • Operates a personal computer or computer terminal to create edit print retrieve or manipulate files

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:30 to 4:00pm
Telework: Ad-hoc only as determined by the agency policy.

    Qualifications

    To qualify for this position applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement 02/11/2026.

    Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade as required by the this instance you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.

    You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:

    • Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include but are not limited to: Ability to provide administrative and clerical support; Skill applying analytical methods to various aspects of assigned programs to project areas; Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a tactful manner with people at all responsibility levels; Skill in planning organizing and representing programs and committees; Knowledge of computer systems and software programs for completion of work assignments.
    Preferred Experience:
    • Knowledge and skills in analytical techniques
    • Knowledge of management information systems and office automation applications
    • Experience collating and manipulating data
    • Experience conducting presentations monitoring trends and generating correspondence to external stakeholders
