In this role you will play a critical role in the design construction operation and maintenance of beam-intercepting devices essential to our accelerator complex. As a dedicated and skilled production engineer you will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop assemble install and maintain these precision mechanical systems in challenging environments. Your responsibilities will cover three target stations and two collimators that protect the magnets along with their associated operational spare parts.

- Coordinating the production assembly and validation of equipment.
- Participating in commissioning activities before installation.
- Oversee procuring components writing technical specifications.
- Following up on contractors work to ensure quality and compliance with CERN standards.

- Background in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience with manufacturing processes.
- Initial experience in mechanical design and development of technical components.
- Exposure to mechanical components or devices is an asset.
Skills:
- CAD systems 3D and 2D drawing.
- Assembling and testing precision mechanics.
- Good communication well-organised and able to take accountability.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team as well as independently.
- Spoken and written English or French with a commitment to learn the basics of the other language.
Eligibility criteria:
- By the application deadline you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Mechanical Engineering (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelors or Masters degree.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
- Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.
