We are currently seeking a talented Mechanical Engineer to join our Vancouver office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HVAC and other aspects of mechanical engineering for buildings and strong experience with healthcare projects. They should demonstrate expertise in buildings decarbonization or deep retrofit projects high energy efficiency projects and strong abilities in cultivating relationships with clients. The candidate should be driven to develop innovative solutions to engineering challenges as well as accompanying the clients through the design process for an array of different building types in institutional commercial and municipal infrastructure.
Primary Responsibilities
- Prepare and review plumbing and HVAC schematics
- Prepare or supervise the design of buildings including commercial residential and institutional projects
- Perform and review heating and cooling ventilation calculations
- Work with the project team from the conceptual and preliminary stages of design through to the completion
- Ensure compliance with the quality assurance and control program
- Liaise directly with clients and maintain business relationships including business development
Qualifications :
- A recognized mechanical engineering degree and a P. Eng. designation
- 7 years of directly related experience in mechanical buildings engineering including HVAC plumbing and building services. Strong exposure to healthcare projects is preferred
- Self-motivation and strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Demonstrate a commitment to client service
- Knowledge of Canadian codes and standards
- Knowledge of commercial building automation systems and DDC control systems
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD Revit and commercial HVAC load calculation software
- A valid BC drivers license
