Job Summary

Summary

You will serve as a Supply Management Specialist in the Naval Supply Systems Command of NAVSUP FLT LOGISTICS CNTR SIGONELLA Italy.



Duties

  • You will coordinate with major area commands in the development of new HM initiatives integrated with Regional planning to enhance program management.
  • You will develop proposals for and manage implementations of automation for HM operations new facility requirements or changes to existing structures to ensure environmental compliance.
  • You will directly oversea and monitor all detailed day-to-day aspects of HMC operations located various austere locations.
  • You will serve as HAZMAT Technical Advisor to other principal NAVSUP FLCSI component heads representatives of other agencies private industry local government agencies and operation with other support systems to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • You will serve as the Deputy Regional HAZMAT Program Manager at meetings or workshops and completes routine office business operations during Program Managers absence or when scheduling or leave conflicts with command or customer needs.
  • You will coordinate material shelf-life program in accordance with the Shelf-Life Management Manual DOD 4140.27.
  • You will assist local NAVFAC Environmental staff with best available Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Act (EPCRA) or other environmental reporting information.
  • You will prepare oral briefs point papers electronic presentations and comprehensive reports related to HMC Site inspection results CHRIMP customer satisfaction surveys and business case analysis for partnerships.

  • This is an overseas position. You will be subject to and must be able to satisfy the overseas requirements of the 26Jul12 DODI 1400.25 V1230: position may require travel to places within and outside the contiguous United States which could include remote or isolated sites. You may be required to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • If eligible for permanent change of station the appointee will be required to sign a transportation agreement to establish a Government time in service requirement of 12 months.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport.
  • May be required to obtain a VISA dependent on the overseas countrys laws/regulations.
  • You will be required to sign the Statement of Understanding for Overseas Employment acknowledging receipt and understanding of the statement of living and working conditions for this location.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD) the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour including nights weekends and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.

GS-12:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1.) Analyzing monthly reports work methods and supply data management to oversee day-to-day operating procedures. 2.) Providing oversight and operating support for the commands Regional planning to enhance program management. 3.) Negotiate and recommend appropriate courses of actions to ensure quality efficiency and effectiveness of HAZMAT programs.

GS-11:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing the following duties: 1.) Managing multiple databases to analyze data and pass findings to management in the form of memos or reports. 2.) Developing plans of action to recommend solutions to HAZMAT problems. 3.) Performing daily administrative procedures for supply systems controls.

Commute area is defined as the geographic area surrounding the duty location in which people can reasonably be expected to travel back and forth daily.
