The Washington State Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) seeks to fill the Administrative Services Manager B role within Child Nutrition Services. This full-time permanentposition is based in Olympia Washington. This position may be eligible for partial telework. Telework is a combination of in-building and off-site days. Position Overview

The Administrative Services Manager is with the Child Nutrition Services division within the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction a division of 55 team members that administer U.S. Department of Agriculture Child Nutrition Programs for the state of Washington. The Administrative Services Manager collaborates with Child Nutrition Services leadership team program supervisors and all team members; and functions to manage and support CNS operations and administration ensuring operations run smoothly and effectively. This position provides direct supervision to the administrative support team and collaborates with the division Executive Assistant on general administrative policies.


Key Responsibilities


  • Supervise members of the Child Nutrition Services Administrative Support Team.
  • Develop and oversee Child Nutrition Services administrative processes; time and effort travel including liaison with the agency travel desk record retention and public records requests.
  • Oversee and facilitate division policies and procedures.
  • Act as the facilities manager for the division maintaining equipment inventory office lease agreements and leads the safety and security management.
  • Serve as the purchasing manager for office supplies and furniture and coordinates with OSPI IT Services for computer and software purchases.
  • Oversee internal communications cross program communications and provides back up support for external communications.


Required Qualifications:


  • A bachelors degree in business administration public administration or closely allied field AND two or more years of administrative and/or supervisory experience.


Equivalent years of experience (6 or more) may be substituted for a degree to include:

  • Two years of direct supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of and experience with administrative procedures office operations management and process improvement to include

  • Proven critical thinking problem solving organizational and communication skills.



Desired Qualifications:


  • Two or more years of direct supervisory experience.

  • Experience with or functional understanding of Washington state regulations for purchasing travel and contracts.


Compensation
The annual compensation for the position is $61644 - $82872 per year and depends upon experience educational background and qualifications. Geographic differentials may be applied based on work location of successful candidate. Washington State offers a generous benefit package including health dental and life insurance retirement and an optional deferred compensation program.
