The Role
We are seeking an experienced intellectually curious and student-focused AP History Teacher with AP Capstone to join a strong and well-established Humanities Department. The successful candidate will teach Advanced Placement History courses and contribute to the delivery of the AP Capstone programme supporting students in developing advanced research critical thinking analysis and academic writing skills.
The role requires a teacher who can inspire a deep understanding of historical inquiry guide students in evaluating sources and constructing evidence-based arguments and prepare them thoroughly for AP assessments and university-level study. The ideal candidate will demonstrate high academic expectations a commitment to inquiry-based learning and the ability to support motivated students in rigorous academic pathways.

Within the High School the Humanities programme plays a central role in developing students critical thinking global awareness and readiness for higher education with strong pathways including AP History subjects and the AP Capstone Diploma.
Roles and Responsibilities
- The teacher will deliver high-quality AP History lessons such as AP World History AP US History or AP European History in line with College Board requirements and school expectations.
- They will prepare students thoroughly for AP examinations through structured content delivery historical inquiry document-based questions and extended analytical writing.
- The role includes teaching and supporting the AP Capstone programme guiding students through research design source evaluation academic writing presentations and reflective practice.
- The teacher will support students in developing transferable academic skills including argumentation synthesis of sources independent research and scholarly communication.
- They will contribute to curriculum planning and development within the Humanities Department ensuring coherence progression and alignment with international standards.
- Assessment will be based on coursework essays research projects presentations and examinations with timely detailed feedback provided to support academic growth and excellence.
- The teacher will contribute to co-curricular academic activities such as Model United Nations history clubs academic competitions or research-based enrichment programmes.
Learning and Classroom Environment
- The teacher will maintain a focused inclusive and academically rigorous classroom environment that encourages discussion debate and independent thinking.
- They will promote academic integrity ethical research practices and respectful engagement with diverse historical perspectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Applicants should hold a degree in History Social Studies Political Science or a closely related field.
- A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE QTS state certification or a national teaching licence is required.
- Experience teaching AP History courses is essential along with a strong understanding of College Board frameworks and assessment criteria.
- Experience teaching AP Capstone or a demonstrated ability to support research-based programmes is highly desirable.
- Experience in an international or bilingual school environment will be considered an advantage.
Remuneration and Benefits
