Job Summary

Your role at St John of God Health Care

As Regional Manager Facilities Management you will provide functional leadership to engineering and facilities asset management teams to deliver a sustainable high performing facilities management function.

The Position

  • Assist Divisions to build high performing Facilities teams focused on efficient and effective asset management and effectively partnering with and leveraging services of third party providers.
  • Build trusted relationships across hospitals and act as liaison to ensure alignment on strategic direction of the national programs. Effectively communicate major initiatives issues and policy changes to key business stakeholders building a culture of agility and financial stewardship.
  • Lead the implementation of facility asset management programs providing professional oversight to hospital-based asset management caregivers.
  • Lead change and business improvement programs/projects across regional Hospitals Engineering/Facilities Management.
  • Actively lead the commitment to responsible environmental stewardship and participate in developing energy efficiency Environmental initiatives.
  • Ensure performance by hospital teams to the agreed standards systems teams processes and KPIs for the maintenance of asset classes across SJGHC hospitals.
  • Conduct annual site audits on engineering services and review and make recommendations for changes to technology equipment regulations and staffing requirements to improve efficiency.
  • Manage the Maintenance Planning function for all Hospitals.
  • Responsible for the governance of any electronic Facilities Management System implemented across Hospitals in region.
  • Establish and maintain region reporting systems/capability to monitor and report on operational performance and financial KPIs.
  • Assist Divisional Facilities Managers with preparation of programs for major capital expenditure (replacement renovations and new works) and for the routine capital budgets and to provide assessment and scrutiny in relation to all external engineering designs.
  • Oversee and direct the delivery of best appropriate cost-effective facilities management services to SJGHC hospitals.
  • Manage agreed central Facilities Management contracts to ensure value for money for SJGHC and that contract terms and conditions are being appropriately managed and applied throughout the business.
  • Develop recommendations related to portfolio profile deployment and redeployment acquisition disposal or retirement of specific major facility assets.
  • Maintain contract management processes for all Regional Hospital engineering and facility management contracts) in coordination with Group Procurement and Group Contracts Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with agreed SJGHC principles for the acquisition and disposal of FM managed assets.
  • Hold team members accountable to performance standards managing understanding and addressing any underperformance appropriately.
  • Develop and maintain 10-year Capital forecasts based on life-cycle predictions as well as twelve-month Routine Capital program for all Divisions.
  • Ensure Cyber-security activities are current including patching and upgrades of firmware/software for all Facilities Management applications

You will have minimum 8 years proven experience and in-depth knowledge of hospital facility services and management with hands on experience managing multiple sites an advantage. Additionally you will have sound knowledge of buildings build practices and services and Australian Standards and have extensive project management experience in a complex operating environment.

To succeed you will possess Tertiary qualifications in asset management Engineering or another relevant field.

  • Permanent fulltime position working 76 hours a fortnight
