As a TRAINING TECHNICIAN (TITLE 5) GS-1702-7/9 you will schedule all formal initial skill refresher and proficiency training for both officer and enlisted members which include providing staff planning and multi-level assistance to ensure that required military training objectives are achieved for all assigned units.
Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:
- Verify member eligibility course availability and prerequisite compliance for formal training schools in accordance with NGB guidance.
- Validate school orders travel orders PCS procedures and training applications for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
- Serve as liaison between units members and ANG training liaisons for formal school in-processing and out-processing.
- Ensure training attendance completion and status updates are accurately documented in applicable automated systems.
- Coordinate ancillary wartime and unit training requirements to support operational readiness.
- Manage formal schools and Mission Essential Skills Training (MEST) programs to support wing training objectives.
- Serve as a resource advisor for formal training workdays and travel funding.
- Analyze annual training guidance to determine implementation requirements and resource impacts.
- Monitor and adjust training resources based on budgetary changes and mission priorities.
- Analyze manning documents and individual skill levels to identify training objectives and requirements.
- Assist units in screening prioritizing and validating school and training requirements.
- Evaluate training program effectiveness and identify issues requiring corrective action.
- Prepare reports summaries and briefings on training status trends and resource utilization.
- Develop and implement education and training procedures supporting upgrade withdrawal and proficiency programs.
- Provide technical guidance to unit education and training managers on policies procedures and systems.
- Develop lesson plans instructional materials and measurement devices for formal training programs.
- Schedule and conduct classroom instruction and distance learning activities.
- Administer examinations and maintain security inventory and accountability of testing materials.

- The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be candidates who match through the Priority Placement Program (PPP).
- The SECOND area of consideration will be Veterans Preference (VP) eligible.
- The THIRD area of consideration will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09 Level - MUST have at least 1 year at the lower-level
GS-07 in knowledge of Army or Air Force education and training programs regarding their principles and procedures. Experience in performing interviews and counseling techniques; training techniques and instruction methods; task analysis procedures learning processes curriculum development training evaluations and education and training systems and products; effective writing skills; editing practices; instructional media application training reporting program and curriculum validation and implementation procedures. Experience in scheduling training events and facilities; supporting assistance visits and training meetings; or assisting in work center and individual job qualification standard development; education institution registration requirements; and military personnel classification system and policies. Experience in the capabilities of communicative interpersonal skill applications and distance learning concepts. Experience as a participant and presenter during training and military or civilian conference events.
GS-07 Level - MUST have at least 1 year at the lower-level
GS-06 in knowledge of Army or Air Force education and training programs regarding their principles and procedures. Experience in performing interviews and counseling techniques; training techniques and instruction methods; task analysis procedures learning processes curriculum development training evaluations and education and training systems and products; effective writing skills; editing practices; instructional media application training reporting program and curriculum validation and implementation procedures. Experience in scheduling training events and facilities; supporting assistance visits and training meetings; or assisting in work center and individual job qualification standard development; education institution registration requirements; and military personnel classification system and policies. Experience in the capabilities of communicative interpersonal skill applications and distance learning concepts. Experience as a participant and presenter during training and military or civilian conference events.
