Job Summary

This position is located at Brussels Belgium.

Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee:

CYS Regular and FLEX employees (working a minimum of 15 hours per week) will receive:

  • First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees)
  • Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees)

Duties

  • Serves as an Instructor in the CYS Instructional Program. Provides individual and/or group lessons to participants. Offers less structured activities for parents/children.
  • Coordinates work schedules with Instructional Program Specialist. Develops individual and group lesson plans. Tracks participants accomplishments long and short term goals effort and evaluations as appropriate for age and type of instruction.
  • Maintains control of and accounts for whereabouts and safety of program participants. Observes and evaluates participants developmental level and records progress.
  • Continually reviews instructional sessions and plans for appropriateness. Observes program participants for signs that may indicate illness abuse or neglect and reports as directed.
  • Plans and conducts special events for parents designed to promote the instructional program while encouraging parents to become involved.

  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3 para.2 to include a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Successful completion of prescribed training (transition and/or annual) and demonstrated on the job competency is required.
  • Immunizations may be required as a condition of employment for the health and safety of those in the facility as determined by medical authority.
  • Already immune individuals (based on documented receipt of vaccine series or physician diagnosed illness) or those subject to religious exemption or medical contraindication are exempt from this requirement.

Qualifications

Resumes must be two pages (or less). Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicants relevant experience skills knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.

A qualified candidate must possess the following:
1. Possess a high school diploma or GED certificate.
2. Be able to communicate in English (both written and verbal).
3. Be 18 years of age at the time of appointment.4. Possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs walk bend stoop and stand on a routine basis. Duties may involve working both indoors and outdoors.
5. Possess and maintain health and freedom from communicable disease.6. Demonstrated skill/evidence of competence in instructional area of Gymnastics Dance Taekwondo/Karate Piano or Music.

Preferred are those candidates who possess a Professional Certificates/Credentials; or Associates Degree or higher with 15 semester hours of college credit in the area of instruction.

  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
