What Strategic Sourcing - Indirect contributes to Cardinal Health
Global Sourcing is responsible for creating and managing diverse strategic supplier partnerships that drive enterprise value with innovation best cost and competitive advantages that benefit customers suppliers and patients. Develops and executes strategic plans by leveraging market intelligence industry knowledge and cross-functional collaboration. Competitive advantage is created through supplier selection and management contract negotiation supply chain optimization and risk mitigation.
Responsible for developing and executing strategy to source indirect goods and services to support our business stakeholders and programs. Perform analysis in order to select supplier and negotiate best value for Cardinal Health. Provide supplier relationship management and contract compliance management including maximization of financial deliverables and risk mitigation. May work within various procurement systems to execute purchase orders and resolve technical issues as identified.
Responsibilities:
- Category Sourcing Lead for the assigned indirect categories that may include IT MRO Material Handling Equipment and Packaging Materials.
- Manage relationships with vendors including vendor selection elimination and performance review activities.
- Maintain a working knowledge of existing contracts to navigate contract extensions and supplier relations.
- Work with business partners to determine sourcing needs and provide indirect sourcing support.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable Treasury FP&A as well as commercial stakeholders in the markets.
- Collaborate cross functionally with legal on sourcing contract drafting negotiations and finalization with third party vendors.
- Stay abreast of strategic projects to ensure timely execution of sourcing demands.
- Comply with procurement Quality and Compliance procedures.
- Drive purchasing discipline and compliance with internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure favorable contract and purchasing terms.
- Negotiate and execute Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) with various suppliers working closely with legal.
- Provide operations support as needed to the COE Repair & Maintenance and Risk Assessment teams.
- Communicate effectively with external and internal stakeholders.
- Takes initiative in issue resolution and problem solving
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration Supply Chain Management Finance Economics Information Technology or a related field is preferred.
- 3-4 years of experience in a related field that includes strategic sourcing (indirect or direct) category management supplier management and negotiation experience preferred.
- Well versed in using MS Office (Word Excel PowerPoint) tools.
- Has strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
- Familiarity with procure to pay systems preferred but not essential.
- Effective communication in English and presentation skills. Ability to successfully communicate with all levels of the organization as well as with external supplier partners.
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Results oriented; critical analytical thinker.
- Able to work in a team environment and be willing to supervise others.
