Powder Technician

Schedule:

Rotating - 5x4x4x5

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: working independently; keeping accurate daily inventories (both handwritten and through computer entry) of all explosive products used in underground main and auxiliary magazines; analysing and investigating any discrepancies in inventories (in person by phone and in written form); rectifying discrepancies; reporting discrepancies to various levels of management; meeting compliance requirements for Stillwater Mining Company standards as well as applicable government regulations; mine data entry and tracking; assisting Mine Operators personnel as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

Required:

Proven ability to comprehend and apply basic math skills.
Exceptional planning organizing analytical skills detail oriented and versatile.
Strong level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel).
Proven interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to handle multiple tasks independently and with minimal supervision.
Demonstrated professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work in underground environment.
Can safely operate transportation equipment on rough roads and for extended periods.
Ability to walk for long distances (up to 2 miles) on rough surface while wearing required PPE.
Ability to climb steep inclines 20% and/or ladders while wearing required PPE.
Must be able to attain and maintain ATF clearance to handle explosives.
Flexibility to work rotating shift schedule as required.

Education & Experience

High school diploma or equivalent and 2 or more years experience in an underground mine; OR five or more years experience in an underground mine preferred.
