Job Summary
Working as part of the Avangrid Power team Control Accounting has full oversight of the accounting and performance tracking for all Gross Margin activities. The Lead Senior role plays an important part in supporting efforts in a very demanding environment with a particular focus on reporting of both revenue and cost of sales
Key Responsibilities
- Perform frequent analysis of gross margin providing valued variance analysis to senior financial management and the business management.
- Assist in group cost-reviews and using initiative in identifying concerning trends or risks produce substantiating reports and work with businesses in validating trends and mitigating risk.
- Enable the maintenance of appropriate accounting working with Control and the businesses where required to correct erroneous treatments.
- Work with the Renewables group in managing gross margin activity
- Organize progress meetings with Operations senior management delivering current and projected performance analysis.
- Maintain regular communications with project managers on project status budget adherence and availability control requirements.
- Assist in the review of intercompany transacting and assurance of appropriate treatment of costs in conformance with intercompany contracts.
- Support budget and business plan processes and other ad hoc requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years experience in industry or public accounting relevant to job requirements
- Sound understanding of US GAAP / IFRS including application.
- Experience with SAP (or similar integrated financial systems).
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of the corporate hierarchy on written and oral interfaces.
- Solid communication skills and ability to interact with Senior Management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Skill to work independently with management oversight.
Preferred Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates with the following:
- CPA license and/or graduate business degree.
- Energy experience.
